Northern Viking (33) writes:
Well it seems we offended the true power behind the throne with our misspelling of "Bureaucracy". In retaliation, on the pretext of an incorrectly submitted form (missing #), they called a general strike. Hence, nothing was done in the realm save the collection of taxes (even they cannot stop that). Of course some starved, waiting for the striking couriers, others just kicked back and enjoyed the vacation.
Hopefully our apologies (and bribes) are acceptable to the true power and next month will be a busy one.
Onwards to Empire.

Klingons (57) writes:
yo'aj Kahless,
Our expedition to Moffat has arrived.
I must report that this region is completely unlike Durness. Whereas the forests of Durness are alive with small game and bird-like creatures, the trees themselves seem to prey upon living flesh here in Moffat. We are blessed to have a large number of sur vum available to keep the trees at bay, and to clear an area for us to settle.
Morale is poor. The mang want to lash out at anyone, anywhere; however, there is no one to feel the bite of their Bat'leth. It is only their discipline and pride as Klingon Warriors which keep them from turning on one another.
Soon we will leave, and head onwards. We have asked for volunteers to stay and colonize the lands, but nobody wants to stay in this cursed land. I find myself wanting a sea creature to attack, if for no other reason than to focus our energy towards battle.
Battle and Honor is ours for the taking, if we continue to follow the Klingon Way.

Red Drogans (129) writes:
There was a scream off to his left.
It went on a while before before changing to a wimper.
He walked to the next hut. It had burned, but the fire hadn't taken properly.
Carefully he looked in through the door.
It looked empty.
Waiting a while for his eyes to adjust, it still looked empty.
You had to be carefull entering anywhere. Not all the locals were subduid.
Leading with the sword he entered.
Bed turned over, chest spilled, pile of rubbish in the corner. Blood splash up the wall.
He rifled through the rubble. pulled up the corners of the carpet.
Nope, nothing here.
Moving back out into the evening there was a harsh laugh off to his left.
Crashing table. More laughter.
He moved on. The next hut was occupied.
He skipped it and onto the next.
The town had put up more of a fight than they had expected.
They'd lost half their men crossing that damn palasaid.
They were not showing the town any mercy.
Here and there were broken bodies. Not all of them Towns folk.
Their injured were lying in the chiefs log cabin. Most would not make the night.
The others would not make the day.
There was partying tonight.
And they would probably sleep well into the day tomorrow.
Not him. He was sure their time was up. They had been followed. And dawn would come with the sound of horses and swords. And men demanding a reconing for the land they had plundered.
He was leaving while the leaving was good.
Just not before dark. Deep dark.
So now, he was gathering.
And you had to be careful. Drunk men with swords.
He was one of them, but fights broke out. And people took strange sides.
And then there were the town folk.
They had killed most, but he had seen a "blind" old man come alive.
They had killed him, but he'd put another body in the log cabin first.
Couple more hours. And he was still hoping for a big find.
This town had been in good condition. Had good weapons.
They had money somewhere.
He scratched through the rubble of burned out hut. A large one. Nothing.
Some odd and ends in the next.
Then it was too dark.
He could not see anymore.
Even the party was starting to quiten down.
Time.
He walked past the log cabin. To where their horses were.
They had picked up a slave boy from one of the villiages a week or so back.
He sat watching the horses.
Holding out a bread as he approched, the boy reached for it.
A knife glinted in the fire light. The boys eyes start wide as his blood flowed down his neck. An then he fell like a sack of potatoes.
Glancing around to see that all was still quite, he packed the last of his treasures onto his 2nd horse. Sitting the boy up to make it look like he was asleep on the job.
He walked the horses out of the gate. Closing it quitely behind him, before walking slowly through the grass and off into the night.

Order of Chaos (139) writes:
Liikkely Loost gazed at the crude map of his realm, and realized the impossibilty of any further expansion. His people were barely able to administer properly what they held now. Work crews were going shorthanded for lack of trained people, and the militia was not far from being as large as he had able commanders for. The lands he yet didn't hold would have to be denied to any potential enemies, but he had seen the solution in his dream from the Skewed-eyed God.
The message he sent the militia commander in response as what to do with the lands was brief.

The Son'a wish to negotiate a cease-fire. It may have something to do with the fact that we only have three minutes of air left.
