About Eagle Competition.
We decide to split Big Prize (350 000) between two factions:
Flamered Heathens (227) - have won 50 000 silver, as good starting writer, who started to write after competition, but impressed us.
Red Drogans (129) - have won 300 000 silver, the main Prize minus sum of Flamered Heathens.
Red Drogans impressed us very much, it is really interesting to read you and I hope you will continue write your tales.

He heard the sound of boots running up the stairs.
It echoed down the hall to his rooms. The urgency of it had him on his feet by the time the source of the noise came to a halt before his door.
He opened the door before the knock. And the aide was rapidly pulling his tunic straight. He had obviously been running a while. Sweat dripping down his chin. Large dark wet patches under his arms and below his chin.
"Lain."
"Sir."
"What's the rush? You'd better come in and have some water."
"Thanks Sir. But I need to tell you..."
"I'm sure it can wait. Have a drink of water."
He drank thirstily until the mug was empty.
"Better?"
"A little."
"Now what's so urgent you need to kill yourself getting it to me?"
"Your orders, sir. They did not make it."
"Did not make it to where?"
"Everywhere. Sir. None of them made it. We aren't sure if the messager was high jacked or what. But no messages got out."
"None?"
"None, Sir."
He thought for a moment. Trying to see the implecations of this.
"Okay, so we were probably okay in the main centeres. What have we lost."
"Some of our farmers have starved and..., sorry sir, we have lost our entire wood stockpile."
He stared at the aide for a while. Then turning, he walked to the window mumbling to hiself: "Wood, wood, wood. Why are you always such a problem for me."
After a moments introspection he turned back to the aide.
"Okay, consolidate. Then we just have to start again..... again.

A message from the deep forests, we have finally found a supply of Yew! This crowns our accomplishments in the search for rare materials and will be a boon to our name of superior quality equipment. You will have to look no further to find the best produced items.
In other news the underworld has delivered a dragon to our door's footstep. We will hesitate no further in taking this beast down to make the caverns safe for our production teams. Yes some soldiers will pay the price for being underequipped and outmanouvered, but the signed up for such "adventure".

From February:
My first productive month, or at least I hope so, as I seek to establish myself in the world. I had some bother with the 'Helper' I obtained. While he seemed to understand me very well his efforts at translation left a lot to be desired*. With the locals standing around looking blank when he passed-on my orders I resorted to my phrase-book and lots of hand-waving. After I'd gone-over the gist of what he'd said with them again the locals caught on pretty quickly and were happy to come to work for me as bodyguards and scouts although they explained that if they could simply 'work' they'd do it for themselves and wouldn't hand any profits over to me**, which makes sense. Nevertheless I now have some trained people. most of whom I am now sending off to report on the surrounding area for me. The rest I am keeping with me to continue our studies until we can make plans to move to a more productive place.
All this activity seems to have drawn some attention from the local powers-that-be. An absolutely charming chap visited me in my hotel and gave me a map which covers the area for some distance. He also asked if I would be interested in working together which, given that I have few resources of my own, I am delighted to take him up on. Guided by his suggestions for where I should go and what I should do I expect to make considerable progress as my own people report back and I have a clearer idea of things here.
Unfortunately, since there has been a postal strike*** you are receiving this letter a month late. Sorry about that.
* 'Translation' = Atlantis Helper seemed to format my orders with various control-characters which the server didn't like, so I retyped them in Notepad and they worked fine. This could have just been a hiccup with my email client though.
** 'Work' = The newbie guide mentions the 'work' command but it is disabled in this specific game, so not available.
*** 'Strike' = I got it wrong and sent this article with the wrong header-line, so you're getting two for the price of one. I copy-pasted from the rules and, duh!. left the header as '#AtlTimes [faction] "password"', instead of putting in my details.
For March:
Well so much for my efforts at exploration. Of the six scouts I sent out from Ney-brer only one actually got anywhere! Another one, quite reasonably, declined my instructions to swim for it. Ok, now I know that oceans are exactly that, and not bits of coastline I can follow ^^. My new aquaintance had warned me that security was 'tight' around the area but I had not expected to be refused entry to 4 of the possible 5 exits from the area :-( Ah well, we live and learn. At least from the one scout that reported back I have found new people, and new resources. With better aptitude for the skills I'll probably need in the short term and access to some useful produce I'm hoping to recruit more peasants to my group and start actually earning some money soon. Profit may be some months away, but if I can at least defray some of my expenses I'll be happy.
(*sigh* I seem to be having trouble with formatting. My first go at posting this was 'wierd' as well. Hope this overwrites the last one I sent and you can all read this ok)

It seems an attack on Esheaberg is being prepared. I fear for the inhabitants afterwards.
